CoLchella – August Wilson Center Performance

To close out our 2015 Summer Programs, we took over the August Wilson Center for the evening. We had a packed house and The KRUNK Movement and COL Jazz put on a great show. Thanks to all of our students for putting in such hard work this summer, and thanks to everyone who came out to support them!

My Healthy Pregnancy Phone App Study

Researchers from Magee-Womens Research Institute and Carnegie Mellon University are looking for women to help in the design of a mobile phone app that promotes healthy birth outcomes. This app provides tailored information about a woman’s pregnancy, and access to resources to help promote healthy outcomes.

Women must be at least 18, currently pregnant and/or have a child under the age of 1, and live in greater Hazelwood. There are two parts to this study.

First, women will be interviewed for 1-hour at the Center of Life, Hazelwood Public Library or Carnegie Mellon University. They will share their views on pregnancy and give feedback on the design of the app. They will be given $35 for this interview.

Second, women will use the app in a 1-hour session in January 2015 at the Center of Life or the Hazelwood Public Library. They will share their views on the app and receive $25.

Women MUST agree to both the interview and app use session to participate in this study. Note that volunteers DO NOT need to have a mobile phone to participate in the study.

We are scheduling interviews now. The interviews will take place at either the Center of Life, the Hazelwood Public Library or Carnegie Mellon University.

If would like to participate, please call 412 268 7735 or email tamar@cmu.edu. Participation in this research study is voluntary, and your responses will be completely confidential.
