Naomi Allen - KRUNK Movement Assistant Coordinator

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Naomi joined The KRUNK Movement during the fall of 2023. Naomi has a bachelor’s degree in acting from Point Park University and plans to further her education by obtaining a master’s degree in arts administration. Previously, she worked at the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust as a Program Associate for the education program and contracted for companies such as Propel Northside, Pittsburgh Public Theater, and the August Wilson African American Cultural Center. Naomi is also a professionally trained artist in vocal and music theory, theater, directing, artist development, and curricular development.

Her favorite thing about working at COL is being able to guide passionate musical students as they create and perform their works. Naomi’s favorite thing about Hazelwood is the kindness and generosity of the community.

“Music education is important to me because it has been removed from several public schools’ curriculums, but it is vital for students to have a safe space to creatively express themselves, especially if they do not have the ability to do that within their personal or home lives. Music also introduces important values such as collaboration and community and helps enhance creativity, learning, and healing.”
