Danielle Smith - Community Engagement Assistant Coordinator

Danielle is originally from Western PA and has lived in Hazelwood for 8 years. She joined Center of Life in 2019 as part of a census outreach iniative to better understand Hazelwood residents’ needs. She then worked as a Community Health Worker before joining Center of Life as part of the Community Engagement team. Danielle is a graduate of CCAC, a certified community health worker, and a newly commissioned PA notary public. Along with having various certificates, she is trained in areas such as mental health, first aid, and trauma-informed care.

Danielle’s favorite thing about Hazelwood is the closeness of the residents and their determination to make their community better, safer, and more equitable. Her favorite thing about working at Center of Life is being able to help her Hazelwood neighbors, gain their trust, and create meaningful relationships.

“The Community Engagement team is very important to me and the residents because every underserved community deserves a team of compassionate individuals able and ready to assist, coach and or advocate for them.”
